We've recently redesigned one of our key functionalities: form creation. This update was designed with the help of CEO-Vision developer Alexis Vanhove, and responds directly to user feedback to offer a more powerful, intuitive and flexible tool.
Since those who develop and create the tool speak best about it, find below an article written in collaboration with Alexis Vanhove, who has been at the heart of this improvement.
Why improve webform creation?
One of the main objectives of this redesign was to make form creation much more intuitive and to allow greater customization. According to Alexis Vanhove, this enhancement responds to a clear demand from users: “We found that forms were being used less and less due to a lack of functionality. Users wanted options such as matrices, page breaks or even questions organized in multiple columns.”
What's more, in this new version, it is no longer necessary to have a GoFAST account to respond, and so it is a sovereign alternative to Google Forms, Surveymonkey...etc., with the possibility of uploading files (invoices, supporting documents...) from the form directly into GoFAST.
A Tool Rethought for Your Information Gathering Needs
The creation of forms in GoFAST has been completely redesigned to meet your growing needs in terms of personalization, simplicity and sharing. With the integration of SurveyJS, a powerful and flexible opensource tool, you can now design forms adapted to all your usage scenarios, whether for internal surveys, data collection or more complex business processes.
New Features for More Possibilities
The new creation interface makes it easy to drag and drop different types of fields:
- Matrix
- Multiple-choice drop-down lists
- Sorting
And much, much more!
You can also customize themes and translate form elements to meet your organization's specific needs.
Other major new features:
- Ability to share forms with external users. You can now send a form via a link to collaborators, partners or customers who don't have a GoFAST account, facilitating data collection beyond your organization's borders.
- Files (invoices, contracts, CVs, supporting documents, photos, etc.) can be submitted with the form and uploaded directly to GoFAST;
Results can then be visualized in graphical or tabular form for quick and easy data analysis.
Greater flexibility and accessibility
We know that flexibility is essential for our users. That's why we've improved the ability to configure conditional fields, define validation rules (such as mandatory fields or specific formats), and adjust each element of the form to your specific needs.
Security and compliance: protected data
We have implemented advanced protection measures when entering information in forms. Your data is thus protected against common attacks, such as XSS, ensuring that you can use the site with complete confidence. What's more, all information collected is stored securely, ensuring data confidentiality and integrity. As with all applications included in GoFAST, no data leaves your GoFAST instance hosted on Onpremise or SaaS SecNumCloud.
It is important to note that the use of free tools such as Google Forms is not recommended for data collection. This is because Google Forms stores data on secure servers, which are subject to extraterritorial laws such as the CLOUD Act, or the FISA (Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act).
As a reminder, the Cloud Act allows the US government in certain cases to access data stored by US companies without informing the owner of the same data, even if it is hosted in Europe, which conflicts with the RGPD requirements on the transfer and protection of personal data.
By its very nature, the use of forms can contain personal or sensitive data, which is why the use of solutions that unambiguously comply with European legislation is strongly recommended to guarantee the protection of your data.
Support, Training and Advice for Optimal Adoption
To help users get to grips with this new functionality, full documentation will be made available when the forms version is released. This documentation will provide all the necessary information to enable users to create and manage their forms in the best possible way.
In addition, SurveyJS documentation can be consulted directly on their site. CEO-Vision will do its utmost to provide its users with all the resources they need to maximize the use of this tool.
In terms of advice on how to make the most of this new functionality, Alexis Vanhove encourages users to be curious and explore all the features offered by the new tool. “I advise users to explore the features and refer to the various resources made available to them, such as documentation, screenshots, and forums, to quickly familiarize themselves with the many options on offer.”
